This topic is abt subtitles on the Eros DVD. If you are looking for info on which LAJJA DVDs are cut / uncut, then visit the other LAJJA DVD thread available at http://www.zulm.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=420

Hey Shaw
Don't get it. I purchased it from CD GURU and they screwed me. I ordered it and it said it did have subtitles, I tried 3 dvds players and still no subtitles. I returned it and i got another one from england and still no subtitles. I returned it and they never sent me another one or my money back so far and thats 3 months ago. I e-mailed them everyweek and no reply. I sent a e-mail to the us and the london office and still no reply. They got there dvd and my money. Never again with CD GURU.

They are definitely subtitles on the UK (second Eros release) of Lajja DVD - screen shots to prove it;

.. but as I remember few people mentioned that you cannot access these subtitles when your DVD player is set to 16x9 – it has to be set to 4:3 – don’t ask me I couldn’t work that one out either – they work fine on my DVD player set to 16x9 and 4:3. So try the different settings on you player – they are definitely there on the Lajja DVD.

I actually have a pirate which came out before the the second version of Lajja. Quality is similar to above, it is non-anamorphic, aspect ratio is kept though with removable subtitles. Audio screwup they did in version 1 is not a problem on this DVD either. Menu is the same as which Ali has for the review but the cover art is similar to version 1 of Lajja.

As for the question if by using a different dvd player will make the subtitles appear. Thats the explaination i got from friends and (so called) experts on dvd's. I just mention it on my e-mail just in case they came back and well it maybe your dvd. As for Ali, hey i'm glad you got a good dvd with subtitles. I wish mine had. BTW ALI, can you help me with an email to cdguru to either get my money back or a different dvd. I tried the e-mails on there site with no answer. No need to go out of your way, just asking. Thanks in advanced.

I think the second version in the US did have subtitles, as far as I'm concerned.

Hi,

Sorry to liven up this issue again.

I just bought the 2nd version of Lajja DVD from a very good shop here in Singapore.The DVD states that the sound is in 5.1 and has English subtitles. Disappointingly, when I played the sound was in 2.0 and furthermore does not have English subtitles.

Does anyone know if my copy is faulty or EROS screwed and there never was a 5.1 digital?

Are there actually copies in 5.1 sound? One of the reason I bought this DVD is for the fantastic background score.

ambleen, most likely you were sold the first edition DVD (one without English subtitles and 5.1 sound) regardless of what the cover states. Does your DVD have the audio and scenes cut? If so then it's definitely the first release DVD.

I have both releases of Lajja on DVD and there is 5.1 audio and English subtitles on the second edition DVD.
