well dei, maybe if ya had chosen a better flick to begin ur distribution efforts in north america we'd support ya. watched the dreadful hmbpk (glad it wasn't urs) today and also saw the trailer 4 tnbp there. it looked like crap to put it nicely. i aint gonna watch this sh*t in the cinema no matter how hot sushmita or diya look, cuz we all know it's gonna revolve around the shirtless clueless khan.

why couldn't u have chosen to start distribution with aankhen or something else more prestigious/intelligent instead?

hope u don't lose too much moulah on tknbp...

It's a shame that DEI has chosen 'Loser' Salman's film as their first Distribution venture. They are going to end up losing money on this, but I guess ti is their own fault for selecting a Salman Khan film. I just hopt they don't lose too much money on it, would'nt want them to go out of business. Actually I am tempted to go watch the film just to support DEI, after all they are the Lesser of the Indian DVD evils.

ok if DEI is the real deal... i`d like to know how you are going to encode a DTS stream on a dual layered disc along with a three hour feature movie!! ??? Im very wary of youre recent releases and to tell u the truth u have really hit the pan with third rate stuff!! Im sure the consumers dont deserve this crap...!!

Well, I liked the promos. Seems like a masala movie to me. It is being released by the folks who know what audio-video standards for Film are. Masala movie, with good audio (DTS or DD presentation) and video is definitely worth a trip to Toronto for me. Specially, if in IMAX.

Rana.

P.S.
1) I hate the most, if the Film is billed as DD or DTS and theatre too is DTS or DD, but the Film print is not compatible with the theatre equipment. That is when we get inferior optical track meant for back up.
2) Does any one know if it is being shown on the IMAX screen in Toronto? If so any idea of the show times??
3) Hope, its DVD, when released is not squashed anamorphic.

The promos to this film do look amazing - cannot wait to get my hands on the DTS dvd if this is true!!

Ok SK is a twat at times [ ok most times ] but this man is still capable of selling big time and bringing in the crowds - I remeber watching Kuch kuch....- the whole cinema erupted when he made an appearance - as Karan Johar said "This is the sign of a superstar!!!" - U got to have attitude to surrive in this kinda business!!

Whoa DEi, DTS is a big thing so I advise you to thread with caution. Its not that I don't support your product since I am big fan of yours and I supported your decision to make MK in DTS. But you have to solve some issues before you go any further. I suggest you read some of Michel Hafner's requirement for a perfect dvd. But if that is too much to ask for then...

First of all I hope you have solved the squash problem that dominates your dvd. Of course you need the best source available preferably a print that's not theater played. And of course please do not use edge enhancement and DNR on all your dvds like icing.

I hope this message gets to you, DEi. Happy authoring good luck :)

Well, while we are making suggestions, I thought I might add an issue that no one seems to be talking about, but which I am sure is a bother to all. Forced trailers and commercials on the DVD, they should be strictly a NO, NO. Also animated menus are fine, but only if the consumer has the choice to press skip and get on with things rather than have to wait for the entire animation to play out before one can make a selection in the menu. Believe me it is the most irritating thing on DEI DVDs something that personally bothers me even more than the darn squished problem.

I found the promos intriguing and they did look good – until someone said the words Long Kiss Goodnight – then the penny drops :oh:

BTW the DVDs ships on the 25th according to Indiaplaza.

I haven't seen the movie Long Kiss Goodnight. So its fine with me. I do like added Indian Masala ingredients and additional twists and turns in the Indian versions.
