R1 release of B&P is by reputable Walt Disney Home Video slated for July 5, 2005.

Do you think even Walt Disney will resort to PAL to NTSC conversion as PAL telecine already exists.

Vote your prediction and have fun checking your prediction when R1 DVD releases. :D

Congrats zulmi voters.
You voted 83% in favour of R1 B&P to be a Hollywood Standard DVD. It released today. It's 100% Hollywood Standard.

It's Progressive, Anamorphic, DD5.1@ 448kbps with ton of bass and plentiful of extras.

I am proud owner of both, R1 and R2 versions of BOTH MW and BILB! :P

I've read some complaints about how Buena Vista (Disney) has been overly filtering their live-action films. The complaints go back 2-3 years. Does this title suffer from that? I'm sure it was meant to look a little soft anyways.

R2 versions of MW( R1 was non anamorphic), and BILB, Ali pha ji's ratings of 8 and 9/10 for dvd reviews!! To me..6.5/10, even if it is prog!

Look at faces, skin tones, detail etc!!

If you live in Canada you will know of Rogers Video which is the same as Blockbuster Video. I rented it from there so its 100% original not dupe. I was also not impressed by the video it felt as though something was lacking in the color department. This DVD reminds me of Ero$ quality .. doesnt seem upto Hollywood Standards.

I agree!! But rana said it was 22Karat Hollywood Gold man!!

So thought there might be different versions for different cities and USA, Canada etc.. all custom authored!

Well, looks like I have to waste a rental, just to verify! PQ! only!

May I request if Ali or your kindself can resize MW and BILB shots in my post for fair comparison!

BTW did we ever get screen shots from UK version pal r2 release? ever! :?:

My eyes may not tell the same as others. I trust Arsh's eyes and his high end progressive set up.

I did say though:
1) It's 24fps progressive (video bit rate is high as well, bet 5 and 9 mbps), just like all other Hollywood DVDs and not like 99% of current crop of Bollywood DVDs that are Field Averaged Interlaced.
2) Audio is proper DD 5.1 @ 448 kbps, with plentifull bass just like Hollywood DVDs.
3) Lots of extras.

Additional comment:
B&P Picture frames look proper. Not like that picture has been cut, or not captured, from top and bottom. Remember Bollywood Hollywood where 1.78:1 frames were extracted from 4:3 captured shots by cutting top and bottom of picture. By cutting top and bottom further, they derived 2.35:1 frames that clearly show something lacking in the frames.

-----------------------------------

BTW, deleted scenes include confrontation between Darcy's mom and Aish that I think should have been in the main film to give higher octane to the story. I think, I saw this scene in the theatre, but not sure. Does any one remember if this scene was in the theatres??
May be they deleted this scene from the US theatrical version to avoid showing US moms in bad light??

Rana!! My apologies!! My comments were just based on screen shots!!

I have other 2 dvds, and will rent R1 BAP and compare! as dvd it self!!

I think you must have MW and BILB too! You can compare these too!!

I did not enlist R1 MW as it was NON ANAMORPHIC and was not fair comparison!!

BTW!! Have you seen Pathe version? screen shots here?

Thanks

Another question, I dont have R1 METRODOME asoka that went through Pal to Ntsc conversion..was it pseudo prog or what?

In Extras, it has the extended versions of all the songs, including the one you asked. I'm not sure if it has any more Hindi than in the main film?? Will check.

Hindi versions of the songs are not in this version, even in extras. Most likely, 'Balle Balle Amritsar to LA' has Hindi songs as well as Hindi dialogs??
