I remember this film, a very emotional performance by Shabana Azmi. Never seen the DVD, but I have the songs - Tu Kahan Aa Gayi Zindagi

Do u remember DOOSRI DULHAN, with SHABANA, MARCS ZUBAIR and SHARMILA? I think..thats how SURROGATE films were BORN

No doubt DOOSRI DULHAN is the mother of SURROGATE films... I haven't seen it... Shabana Azmi's film that touched me most was Mahesh Bhatt's ARTH.... I loved her drunken scene in which she calls SMITA PATEL a whore...

What was that dialogue?

Kavita mein aisi kaun si baat hai?
Hamare shastron ke anusaar...
Patni ko apne pati ke savva mein...
Kabhi maa ka roop dharun karna chahiye...
Kabhi bahen ka roop dharun karna chahiye...
Aur bister mein, randi ka roop dharan karna chahiye

AGREE!! Shabana, IMHO, is FINEST actress BOLLYWOOD CINEMA produced ever!

Samita, was another, but NO MORE! The way, her character gets ur SYMPATHIES in the end, is UNREMARKABLE TRIBUTE to SAMITA PATEL..

BTW! DOOSRI DULHAN had some very fine songs too :cry:
Shabana's STREET GIRL role was fabulous, PREITY was NO CLOSE in CCCC..imho
