Dear Mr. XXXX,
Thanks for buying online from
http://www.yashrajfilms.com. We have a detailed
database of all our past online orders and after having referred to our
order database for ALL the online orders placed by you through our Website,
we have investigated that the SILSILA DVD was ordered by you long back in
December 2002. A copy of the order no. XXX is also reproduced
below, at the end of this email for your reference.
We would like to bring to your kind attention that as also mentioned on our
Website (under 'YRF Home Entertainment' section as well as from the 'Legal
and Contact Information' link present on each individual movie DVD
information page) - All complaints/problems regarding a product need to be
reported to Yash Raj Films on
mailto:helpdesk@yashrajfilms.com "within 60 days" of
delivery of your online order.
Unfortunately, since this order has long crossed this period, we will not be
in a position to exchange/return the same. However, considering you are our
regular and esteemed customers, we would like to help you out by suggesting
some alternatives, detailed below.
PLAYER COMPATIBILITY: Please note this could just be a player compatibility
problem and you may want to try to play the DVD in another DVD Player if you
have access to another one. We'll appreciate if you can please try to check
the same scenes/parts of the movie/special features on some other player
also to cross-check and confirm if the problem yet persists.
DVD LASER READING: At times small amounts of dust or fingerprint can inhibit
the play with the laser not being able to read the data on the DVD. You
could try to clean the DVD surface with a moist and lint free towel or
napkin a few times. This minor cleaning of the DVD surface solves this
problem most of the times. Why this occurs is that different manufacturers
use different "lasers" on their DVD players. These lasers are made by
various companies & have different levels of laser light output. While the
DVD manufacturing industry has certain guidelines as to the range that the
outputs should be in, some lasers while within acceptable norms are either
at the upper or the lower limits of the norms. In case of such lasers,
sometimes even a small speck of dust can cause freezing or scrambled video.
In essence, if the laser is too powerful then it will effect the video
quality by reading a speck of dust. If the laser is not powerful enough,
then that same minute speck of dust will actually block the laser from
reading the disk data. This DVD player manufacturing level problem is not in
our control.
We would also like to highlight here that the DVD title "SILSILA", like all
our other titles was mastered digitally with the best available technology.
Hence we're very surprised to hear your problem because we've rarely got
complaints on the same, right since its release. We have even checked the
DVD internally and found no such glitch in the same.
We at Yash Raj Films aim to give to our valued customers, their favourite
films in the best possible quality which can be treasured forever. We
sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you, but unfortunately
will not be able to replace the same as per our company policies.
Thanks for your understanding and Yash Raj Films looks forward to a long and
enduring relationship with you.
With Warm Regards,
Yash Raj Films Helpdesk
