What happened to DEI? :keh:

Yesterday I watched the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam DVD (DEI version) and I was just surprised to see an ACTUAL GOOD QUALITY DVD of an Indian film. I noticed they haven't released a DVD for quite some time. I think their DVD's are the best compared to others!

So I want to know!! What happened to them? Did they quit? So yes, WHYYYYY in name of God!!? :(

The latest BEI titles are on gold media, so freezing isn't a general issue anymore.

Scream away. If the video quality is bad, you're only helping us by saying so.

I got Kismat -BEI-wasnot going to post as did not want to be the first to scream-NOw I can-Print is bad

If you say KISMAT (it's progressive) print is bad,

same as

pirates, EROS video prints, Samrat video prints, Sky video prints, etc, as bad

Then you are also implying that all these DVDs are as good as BEI KISMAT??

I don't buy that.

Some are less bad than others. In other words, some are better than others. Then, where do DEI/ BEI progressive prints like KISMAT fit??

rana indulge me what does progressive transfering got to do with the condition of a bad print where no attempt has been made to clean it up are you infering that progressive techniques will by itself clean up the print and hence any progessive transfer means a good dvd {If you say KISMAT (it's progressive) print is bad, }

I am not DEFENDING BEI here!! KISMAT is PROg, but PRINT IS BAD!

IMHO, if KHNH, for $22, KHAKEE and LOC for around $20, are DIGESTABLE to ENTHUSIASTS!

then, KISMAT for $2.99-$3.99 should be easily digestable, without BADHAJMI! or GAS! LOL!! :bangbang: :ffs:

Well now it is allright to compare BEI with EROS etc..Is that correct yaar?

This is exactly what I'm saying. Even the worst prints from BEI are better than best prints by others.

If we classify all of them as bad, then all are the same, which they aren't.

There may be scratches in the print, color balance may not be right (slightly off) due to fading etc, no restoration effort may have gone in, but the print is as sharp as a DVD print should be and is great for a never heard of 35 year old flop film. Color adjustments can be done on the display.

BTW, this thread is only a few replies away from making it to Zulmi Hot Topic. :D
