I'll be going to India in August. I'm sure it'll be cheaper there from palika bazaar or somewhere. BTW, is there a to-go place in Delhi for these rare dvd's (TNT(Shakti, Mahaan), Bombino(Tezaab) etc.

Well Bombino doesn't exist anymore. I get mine from a friend or Moti Mahal.

I've been trying to get Hathyaar (old) on Bombino for a while

are u aware that the VideoSound version and Bombino version are different?
can someone confirm the runtime of both?

differences:

-title sequence after anil kapoors entrance (in VS not in bombino)
-Anil Kapoors voice dubbed in parts by Sudesh Bhosle (in VS)
-Dialogue between madhuri n anil cut short before 'so gaya' song (in bombino)

there is also another version seen on Zee TV with A Qawwali song and 2 scenes before that. Also a 'ek do teen' credit sequence at the end, instead of black background and white hindi credits.

So theres about 3 versions!

but can u confirm the runtimes, i used to have the GVI VHS which is same as VideoSound i think.

(thnks for your help stephen)

This was on Star Gold last night (does come on quite often) and I saw that the end title credits had a few clips
from the film joined together and 'ek do teen' music playing as well. While on the DVD's is just a blank blackground
(not too sure how Bombino version but will double check)

Also in the VS there is only one scene or one dialouge where Anil Kapoor's voice is dubbed by Sudesh Bhosle. And
in the Star Gold version there are many different scenes where Anil's voice was dubbed.

are you sure it's the exact same transfer and/or souurce as bombino? a lot of moserbaer titles have different transfers from the companies that have previously released the same movie on dvd.

qawalli "kuchch kar kay dikhao toe jaane" was added in theatres after it ran for some days, i think it was to celebrate a successful run. sudesh bhosale's dubbing was evident in theatrical prints and it was big news that time. so perhaps when they added the new qawalli and its prologue, they got anil kapoor to redub over sudesh bhosale's (who was contacted because anil kapoor's busy schedle was not allowing him dates for dubbing).

one memorable dialogue, which i think was sudesh bhosale's voice, in theatre ( i saw this in shillong) was when he tells lotia pathan -- ".... jalaakarrrrrrakh karr doongaaa" -- that "rrrrrr" was fabulous ;-) and the crowd went wild clapping.

where can one get the videosound version?
how's the audio on bombino?
how's the audio on videosound?
how's it on moserbaer?

Urbanlegend, can you correct the AR on the shots from videosound? they appear to be vertically stretched -- is videosound anamorphic?

moser baer / moserbaer / tezaab is acid / tezaab DVD

moserbaer (moserbaer-bombino) TEZAAB dvd is anamorphic and in NTSC format (while bombino TEZAAB is not... right?)
it has 5.1 and 2.0 audio options and english subtitles (optional).

It has two CBFC certificates -- one in the movie on DVD -- an "Adults" / "A" certificate, and another on the frontcover artwork which is V/U -- certificate for video film for universal unrestricted viewing -- so this DVD is both "U" and "A" ;-) ---- The video CBFC certificate lists runtime instead of reels -- 163min-and-05sec.

There's no "The End" in MoserBaer Tezaab, no end credits either. The movie simply ends as soon as Lotia Pathan is shot and is shown falling off the ship. Heh Heh ;-) How does bombino end?

also can you check how the movie ends? are there any end-credits or simply a "the end" display?

I know the GVI/VS version ends with a silent end with the titles rolling

MoserBaer TEZAAB is NTSC, and the AR is close to 2.30:1 Anamorphic in the opening credits and approx. 2.10:1 rest of the movie.

Like most MoserBaer DVDs, this too may be PAL-to-NTSC and/or with PAL speedup (shorter by 4% in terms of running time). It does not include the new scenes (qawalli and prologue to the same). Runtime is 163m 23s including abt 18s of moserbaer logos/messages (not part of movie), so actual runtime is 163m 5s.

Can you make ot the fineprint just below the Tezaab title in Hindi -- immediately below the last alphabet?

I tried ordering the bombino version from the moti mahal site but can't figure out what I'm clicking on since its not in English..is there another site or place where I can get the bombino version. I'd more interested in the PAL progressive DVD that the anamorphic version that Moserbear has released..
