I prefer Sony or Pioneer myself......i gotta Sony NS400(multiregion) and my brother has got Pioneer 444 or summat! And they r both pretty good.

My Sony cost me £250 from Techtronics.com (UK)
if thats ure budget.....i recommend it.- It's good shit!

check out http://www.leconcepts.com or http://www.upgradeheaven.co.uk

all their stock should be multi-region. They're also the cheapest by far. You can't really go wrong with a player with a decent badge on it. I personally would stick with a company like Pioneer.. as they seem to be the most versatile, i.e i've got 2 Pioneers and so called problem discs work fine on them. Also picture/sound is excellent.

the player scarface mentioned, the Dv-444 is really excellent, it's less than 2inches tall, it's looks sexy and it has basically all the features you could possibly want. A good feature of Sony players though is that some are able to skip past FBI warnings etc.. and let you change audio/subtitle tracks on the fly with certain discs... whereas other players won't. Either way, go with a Pioneer, Sony or Toshiba and you really shouldn't have any problems.

At the above companies you should be able to pick up the Dv-444 for less than 200quid... and trust me it's a quality player, only 50 quid more than your typical budget player, but so, so much better!!! :)

try the LG 4750 at http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/ for 132 pounds.
Its hackable by remote ( so the manufacturer's warranty stays intact) and has an inbuilt 5.1 decoder. It is probably one of the most popular multi-region players in the world and I have had the 3350 (the model before the 4750, which is exactly the same internally) for more than a year now without problems.
and, u could buy the Packard Bell 5.1 speakers at PC World for 60 pounds. So, u could have a multi-region DVD + home theatre for under 200 quid.
