??? Basically it was about this guy who had cancer and goes to a hillstation(?) to try to get a cure/recuperate. There he meets a carefree girl who happens to be the Doctor's daughter...only to find out she has cancer too..
They fall in love and try to deal with each others illness.
The actress was someone new,and I don't know her name...
Anyways did anyone else see this movie and if so what was the title?

I remember this movie well! I can't remember the name of it though ... sorry! ???

This is going to bug me like crazy now

I do remember that it was a pretty good movie - and the songs were very good ... I have a feeling that the actress may have been Divya Bharthi - but I may be getting her confused with her role in Dil Ka Kya Kasoor.

Okay ros...some facts :-

You come up with films which hardly ppl watch or have watched... Can I ask you why ?... Ukmmm u have a fascination for D grade Mithun and Raj Kiran starrers.... Care to tell me (rather all of us) why ?... Its just out of curiosity though...

Now for your question :-

The movie in question was Yaad Rakhegi Duniya...was was lifted shamelessly from the Manirathnam-Illayaraja classic, GEETANJALI ( in telugu)..I dunno the name of the heorine, but there was a song :-
Tujhe rab ne banaya hai kisliye kisliye...
Tu akela na reh jayega, is liye isliye

Munna Aziz & Sadhna Sargam
1992

Hi sknath,
To answer your question:
There are some movies that I've seen in the past that 'stand out' in my memory and whether they're classified as 'whatever grade' is insignificant to me...unfortunately for you guy the older movies couldn't help but star people like Mithun and Raj Kiran etc...I know most of you guys seem to be hooked on the 'bollywood of the rencent past'...but then I've never been one to follow the crowd, so if my musing have irritated you in some way, I'm sorry, but I figured info sharing was the name of the game with a forum community..now that you've pointed this out to me I think I'll be weary of posting here in the future....
;) By the way I couldn't be the lone wolf ,as the previous poster also like that particular movie.
Hope I answered your question...

ros 1....I am not someone who admires Bollywood's recent past only ! I have a vast plethora of choices which ranges from films & songs from the time of the late Kundan Lal Saigal, till the still to be released Aankhen .... However you can say that I hardly follow Bollywood films these days, due to their weak scripts etc.

Gimme a classic Like Awaara, Shree 420, or any RK film or for that matter even a Shammi Kapoor film or a HIT AB film (not his flops like Adaalat etc.) and I will still watch them. But RAJ KIRAN ? Come on man..that guy was good in his role as the good-turned bad - turned good son along with his fav heorine..Shoma Anand !!!

The only thing I liked abt RAJ KIRAN was when he was playing the tunes of KARZ on his guitar while driving the car with SIMI GREWAL ( "Mera Naam hai Ravi Verma !")

Now it's all coming back to me! Yaad Rakhegi Duniya :DD:

Thanks - just a quick note about 'D' grade movies - I don't think that this movie could be classed as such - I remember at the time that this movie was released there was a load of trash around - but this movie had a really good storyline and good songs.

I'm pretty glad that some people remember these movies - I'm pretty good with movies from the 1930's - 1960's ... the seventies get a bit fuzzy and the eighties are just a distant blur!

Muz, not this movie in particular..but in general most of RAJ kiran's flicks were stupid flicks even in those days. As for Mithun ( another of ros1's fav) the less said the better ( of cos he has given a surprisingly clean hit called TITLI - in bengali ).

As for the 1930's - 1940's you have such memorable hits as ALAM ARA, Devdas, Achut Kanya, Kismat ( the last 2 being Ashok Kumar blockbusters)...

I did mention that film "yaad rakhegi duniya" was a direct lift from the Telugu film..Geetanjali which has great tunes (in fact the tune from the film DIL...O Priya Priya Kyon bhula diya was lifted from a similar tune from that film (geetanjali))
