Ali whats the use....With sompanies like EROS, Videosound, Yashraj etc.... you can be rest assured that they will screw up these super resolution moving images also !....

One notable example of thsi you will see when Yashraj releases the K3G DVD... I was thinking of purchasing the 2 DVD collectors edition but now I have decided not to go for it ! ( as the movie is crappy neways !) :sneaky:

My thinking was if they adopted this technology widely, they would in effect me making high quality/resolution digital masters for projectors in cinema halls; assumption here is that I’m hoping they wont compromise the digital masters as they are for cinema showings. These same digital masters can be used for DVD and HD-DVD. Long shot – but hey have to keep hoping :baaa:

But like ali said, there is hope ???

Bollywood should adopt the Sony HD24p cameras. The master
is then digital and (sloppy) lab work is circumvented.
The DVD can be made directly from the master. Hey, no
DNR required! DVDs could be made ready in time with
better quality than any pirate can achieve. Conventional
prints would be better quality as well. The cameras are
not cheap but shooting and tape is cheaper than using
film. Colorful Hindi films shot in HD24p would look
fantastic!

It is good to shoot digitally on the 24p cameras and get perfect dvds but to transfer HDDS to filmfor theatrical release will cause some money. Although it is not long before a Bollywood film might try doing this as Shekhar Kapur is heavily promoting digitally shot films in India. I would also like Bollywood to transfer movies shot in film directly to a digital master during post production, again for the benefit of good dvds. That will also mean less production cost for dvd makers like DEi.
