A writer from OscarWatch.com argues that LAGAAN is a far superior film than the front runners to win the Oscar Award for Best Foreign Film(Amelie & No Mans Land), and believes these films have become overated.

I do hope Lagaan would win, it certainly was one of the better films to release around the world. Aamir Khan deserves it plus it would prove that he is the best of the khan's (something I have always believed, and as a result have always been ridiclued for it by my asian mates)

I am not sure why you'd be ridiculed, 'cause everyone I know think salman is gay and annoying, thinks shah rukh overacts at times and aamir is THE actor of the current lot..

yeah everyone likes Aamir as far as I know...anyway Lagaan has just opened again in theaters here in Singapore (thanks to oscar hype!) and I'm going again!
