Looks like Monsoon Wedding is doing real well in UK. The movie has actually improved it's collections in each of it's three weeks of creening. The collections improved by % in the second week over the first week. In the third week it actually improved collections by +51% over the 2nd week. Check out the following links:

Monsoon Wedding has by now grossed over $2.1 million in the UK, over $1.3 million in Italy and over $.8 million in Australia. Going by these figures I am sure it is on it's way to becoming the highest overseas grossing Indian film ever. Do keep in mind it has still to be released in the US and Canada (it opens this coming weekend 22nd Feb) which is potentially a far bigger market than the ones it has so far been released in.

Its a film which deserves all of what it gets, good box office responce. However the film was not entirely made on Indian money and therefore could not be classified as an Indian film, dispite the language or the cast/crew. Much of the money came from USA, UK and a couple of European countries.

It would be nice if the Indian film industry actually starts to finance small films. Chandni Bar is an example of what can be achieved.
