Just finished watching FILHAAL!!My humble 2 cents on this one.

Film!! GOOD, simple ,sensitive"dont expect to laugh or entertained, just feel it and live with it for the moment(FILHAAL)!!Contemprary feel too the movie overall, unlike a conventional hindi movie!!!
No glamour, gody dresses, stupid comedy, or unecessary dances!!
Simple, cute and thoughtfull!!

STORY!! theme, seen before but dealt with a different and new perspective!!
Plot!! confusing at points, kinda feel like reel mix up!!but then runs fine!!
Performances..Tabu and Sushmita sen both at their best!!
Sanjay suri..good too!!
Palesh sen!! thorn in the eye!! man, why he was there!!

Songs and music good with the film.
Cinematography..excellent visuals by manmohan singh!!

Direction, could have been better if Gulzar would do it himself!!but not bad for a beginer!!

Overall..sensitive, simple and thoughtfull story and film made to be seen and apprecite by thoughtfull viewers only!!
Not by people who like no brainers, like yaadein , kkkg etc!

Now DVD!! Picture../video nothing to take home, mediocre to average..not good.
sound..average fits in the film well.

extras..making, trailors and forthcoming..good.

Highly recomended for VIEWING.
FOR COLLECTIONG...Not recomended!!
Enjoy!!
My next view is ASOKA and RAAZ, have both of them!!

Filhaal related BBC article;

Women directors scale Bollywood

"Female directors have been a rare commodity in Bollywood despite women's success in front of the camera. But that is finally changing, reports Suniti Singh"
