A Govind Nihalini film, BODY, is Bollywood's first science fiction film, set in 2022.

According to Nihalani;

Quote:
"The film which looks at the dark side of organ donation, uses computer generated images so sophisticated, you can compare it to Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even though the movie is set in the future, it highlights many issues that are relevant today. People tend to think brightly of the future, but things such as poverty never changes for the better. I want people to look at their future and Indian Cinema in a whole new way."

The film is apparently out on video and DVD. Has anyone heard/seen it? No ideas who is distributing it.

Yup I have heard he was making a movie called 'Deham' (which translates to Body I guess). I had also heard that it was set in 2022. Did not know it was sci-fi. Thanks for the info.

Here's some more info. BTW I believe the movie is in English !

-------

Noted film director Govind Nihalani's first English feature film, 'Deham' (Body) has been invited for the London Film Festival to be held from November 7 to 22.
The movie, based on Manjula Padmanabhan's Onassis Foundation for Theatre's first prize winning play, 'Harvest', would also be screened at the Indian panorama section of International Film Festival of India to be held at Bangalore in October, a release said.

The cast of the movie includes Kitu Gidwani, Joy Sengupta, Aly Khan, Surekha Sikri-Rege and Mohan Kapoor among others. Roy Venkataraman has composed the music for the film, which has lyrics by Nida Fazli, the release added.

-----and some more info on Screen India folks. The article is too long to provide a gist hence the URL
