I'm thinking of importing a high def set from the USA to the UK specifically for only watching my DVDs, Laserdisc and also gearing up for D-VHS (till Blue Ray comes in 2005-6).

I know it wouldn't work with traditional British Television Terrestrial broadcast systems but could it work if I hook up my Digital Sky box to the Hi-Def set??

think it will work with Sky+ but not normal bog standard SkyDigital!

Be warned that laserdisc doesn't look all that hot on HD sets...(sighing as I survey my collection).
