There are 2 possibilities:
1. Either it is film-to-NTSC which means that the film is cut because film-to-ntsc should maintain theatrical runtime.
2. More likely, it is PAL-to-NTSC without speedup correction -- meaning it still plays as fast as a PAL dvd would and finishes as faster (4% faster). This would mean the movie is uncut.

Somehow, I never saw The Burning Train; didn't find the title exciting enough.
But, as it was on TV the other day, I found it interesting enough. Specially for all the nostalgic A to Z actors from Bollywood, most of them not alive anymore. The TV showing sure was not the full version, so must have missed some actors.

--------------

As for whether a version is 4% speed up or not, you can check it by playing at slow speed or by frame advance. If you see every fifth frame repeated (or indicated as aprox repeat), it's normal speed. If you don't see this repeat pattern, then most likely (99% of times) it's 4% speed up. (It applies to any recording, DVD, Blue Ray, Laser Disc, VHS, Beta etc)

Shemaroo Run time is 184.5 min (did not see any 4% speed up)
Moserbaer 177 min (Perhaps it's 4% speed-up, implying a film run time of 184.5 min ??)

1980 Film CC says 6137 meters, (227 min if 35 mm, but it's 70mm) Corrected as below:
Added/ Corrected June 2017:
70mm film, frame rate most likely 24 (so can make 35 mm prints as well) , Run Time ??
Found this website to calculate run time for various film formats:
http://www.scenesavers.com/content/show ... calculator
Found run time calculator for 65 mm film (70 mm film is 65 for film and 5 mm for audio etc);
Enter 6137 meters (20135 ft), 24 frames per sec,
It calculates run time as 179 min.

Then, the Shemaroo version must be the original complete version (184.5 min) plus some extra footage.

http://web.archive.org/web/201208110418 ... e=&order=0. Probably based on the same transfer as YRF version, which too was an incomplete version.

I got an Eagle DVD. 177 mins runtime (looks like PAL speedup though final coding is NTSC). Same cropping on sides as in shemaroo & moserbaer.

Venus online has wider AR. Does YR also have wider AR?
