D-VHS is dead. No one wants to go back to video tape, no matter how good it is. We'll just wait for HD-DVD.

If you want to high quality recording go out and buy a DVD recorder for $800-$1800 USD. Thats very affordable for a home theater fan.

HDTV, whether on D-VHS or on HD-DVD, is lot better than the presently available DVDs. Min. HDTV res. is 1440 x 720 progressive or 1920 x 1080 interlaced. Compare it to 640 x 480 interlaced of the present DVDs, VHS or S-VHS.

I can bet, 2 yrs after Hollywood HD-VHS or HD-DVD movies are available, Indian DVDs still won't reach the present day Hollywood DVD standards (a few exceptions).
