According to http://www.oscarwatch.com ,Of the 51 movies from around the world in the race for top 5 contendorship for an Oscar Nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, Lagaan isn't too far behind. Atleast right now, its on the top 15 spot with a secure place at #12. Althought I loved the film, but I personally thought that it wouldn't have had this strong of a lead at the Oscar race. I guess the lobbying work is paying off for Aamir Khan. The film now has about 11-12 days to make its way up to the top 5, before actual 5 best film annoucements. However, even now, France Film Amélie is still the majority favor to win.
