Hi guys,
I am in usa and want to buy a Home theater system in the price range of $200-300 without dvd player. But I am looking for one which can be switched to both 115v/220v and from the brand names Sony,Yamaha,Onkyo,Kenwood or any other good ones. Could some one help me in this regard.

I would recommend the kenwood HTB-505. If you look on the internet you could get one for under $300. For $300 you get a receiver with DTS & DD5.1, subwoofer, and 5 speakers. For the price you pay this system sounds excellent!!

I'm not sure about the 115v/220v with this system.

out!!!!!

If you could step up your budget to around $450, you could get the Onkyo HTS-760 which blows every other HTIB out of the water. Just check the reviews. It's a 6.1 system that does DD 5.1 EX, DTS 6.1 ES, and basically every other format out there. The sub is very powerful and will shake the house. The only downside is that the speakers are quite bulky, but imo you need big speakers to get good sound (that's why Bose sucks). You won't be able to find anything better than this for under a $1000.

As for the 110/220 issue, I have no idea how that works with HT. I would think that you need more than just the outlet modulator.

I bought this Kenwood HTB-206 model nearly two months ago for taking it to india and when i opened the pack i saw that though the manual says that it can be switched to both 115/220v located at the back, I didnt found that. I thought may be it might be due to the order placed in USA without any specification of my need. then I saw this column which says all the international companies like onkyo, denon, kenwood, sony, yamaha do have HT's which can be operated at different voltages and hence i started looking for those.
