I see lots of 2/1 and 3/1 DVDs not only in video stores but even in the grocery stores now here in Toronto... question is how good are they. Specially for older movies ... like AB movies...? Deewar etc never had great sound even on the original DVDs... anyone tried any of these? They are so cheap too - cost $8.00 CAD.

In the beginning, they were good. Sometimes, even better than current batches of originals. Example; Mann. The media too was good.

Later more and brands came in the market and the product quality now varies. Sometimes, movie title is copied from a pirate. Example Chalte Chalte.

Generally these are recompressed copy of an existing disc. Quality loss due to re-compression is minimal, but the end product does depend on their source. Also, many current multi-in-1s are on cheap media. I have experienced freezing problems in some discs.

95% are dupes of the original DVDs...if you do a search on Zulm you will find some screen shots taken from 2in1 dvds and will see there isnt much difference on tvs 27" or lower. Anything above you will see pixellation but there are some 2in1's that authored a bit better and you dont see as much pixellation on tvs larger than 27"

i rented the talaash/saathiya dvd since talaash came out in u.k. first and was only available in the 2in 1 in north america so the talaash one was copied from the tip top version and saathiya was from its orig. since i have a home theater system on my 63" t.v. the picture was real bad due to pixellation. and the sound was not DD5.1 as the orig it was DD2.0

Ok so which brands, or which titles (multi-in-1s) are good? I mean, I am only looking to buy certain AB movies and stuff like GADAR/GHATAK ... I won't really buy movies like K3G on these.
