This has nothing to do with DVDs, but here I go anyway.

This is the first time I'll be flying out of Toronto, Canada and I needed some advice with who are the best travel agents (if you guys have experience with any of them), and also what are the prices like during OFF season. I intend flying round trip to Chennai and back (3 month stay) and wanted to know the average fare in Canadian $$. Any ideas, and what are your experiences in general? Please IM or post here.

it's always a good idea to buy the tickets from travel agents that are the area distrib for the particular airline. Essentially, airlines send the airline tickets to the area distrib. <-- All other travel agents buy from the area distrib so they will always, no matter what, have a higher price than him!

Also, if you don't want to trust shady desi travel agents :D , then its a good idea to get a written quote from the area distrib and go to a large gora travel company ( I use the Flight Centre), and get them to match it. They're able to match the prices because they buy in bulk and so get lower rates.

As for prices - they're quite reasonable this year. I've had to buy two seperate tickets (and gift them  ):

--> $999 all taxes and commisions incl. to delhi near the start of may

--> 1600 all taxes and commisions inlc to delhi near the end of june

the first was off season, while the second was peak - so should give you an idea...

not that this has anything to do with your tickets kabir, but last year when i travelled to the usa i paid something that was called the "sept 11th tax" & it was about 100 bucks if i remember correctly. i found it rather funny at the time but now since i'll be going to the usa in a couple of wks i just hope i dont have to pay for it again :bash:

Im hoping that these prices are in Canadian $$ and not in US? Seems quite pricey either way, as all tickets are these days.

For example, in dograks's post, he says that the off season price roundtrip to Delhi is $999. The new introductory rate that Air Canada is offering is substantially more than this even during off season. Is this a deal or a rip-off?
