I am going to wait and see about quality of this release. God only knows whose grave DEI robbed this time to find transfer source for Umrao Jaan. So folks check posts at Zulm before parting with your hard earned money.

If you click on the "Play Movie" link, It actually takes you to "Play All Songs". So the only way to play the movie is to go to the "Chapter Index" and select "Chapter 1".

just brought my disc! packaging is excellent including cover art! looks like a superior product! havent started playing yet!

Well1 regarding technical glitch!! I played the movie it played from play link, did not go into song menue!!so may be glitch is fixed!!Well!Now i have sceen shots and dont know how to post them!! If Ali could help??

Well! i watched the whole movie now!
Film..Utter crap IMO.
DVD..Godd packing.+
Technical problems..many!!I apologize for my earlier mail, Ali was right on! authoring defect, i.e song menue for play! I was confused as first two chapters are songs any way!besides one of worse authoring..chapter change..freeze and jerky, plus bad additional editing!! very jerky not smooth chapter and seen transition!

Video..stated aspect ratio, 1.85:1 while actual is 2:35:1 i believe, while it becomes even letterboxed in song #2..very bad!!
Cropped picture from sides!!I did not feel squishing problem though!!?
Colors good and rich like Ek Rishta.
Sharpness good to poor with blurring of many seens and getting very soft image? problem with transfer or original print?

Wear tear..present but not distracting!Good print source generally!

motion artifacts..minimal

sound..true 5.1, but not a likable mix to my ears! Channel seperation and LF ..good overall!! but too much emhasized background score and surround info that becomes over powering in many places!!We have seen and heard better from DEI! JUNG, JANWAR and many more..not one of the best..but overall ..decent.

Verdict!!Mixed bag dvd, not on par with DEI 's previous GOOD standards.
I haven't seen Abhay but Ali,s preview was not encouraging on that one!!

Has anyone looked at UMRAO JAAN yet? Just 2 months back I bought Media Digital Entertainment's crap version. But if this DEI version is good I'll be happy to buy it again! D:

i am going to watch today! but it is complete movie with all songs all previous ones were incomplete! take my word for that! just for that reason i will get it!!!!
