A friend here at work who knows I'm into Indian film pointed this out to me today:

Kodak K3G article

He recognized it because I've got a K3G poster over my desk right now.

funny kiran deohans got interviwed considering there were better shot films in 2001 e.g Lagaan, DCH, Moksha. Though Asoka and Santosh Sivan was featured on Kodak's website. Yeah, sunny what is the point anyway.

Lagaan's cinemtography was amazing as was Dil Chatha Hai. The use of the wide 2.35:1 ratio was great and I'm a sucker for a large ratio frames used on widescreen films.

But there were two movies in 2001 which floored me with their cinematogrpahy. The first was Moonsoon Wedding (1.77:1), which looked grainy and documentry/homemovie-like, helping with the film's plot. The second was the Kutty (1.66:1), whose cinematography was simple but effective.
