Is the second shot of the drummer from DVD-R?

Asif, I don't care if you copy Indian DVDs (except DEI), since they're not worth your money, but American and European companies produce good DVDs, so you should support them and buy the originals. Personally I wouldn't bother copying Indian DVDs since bad quality is bad quality, no matter how little it costs.

Yep  All lower numbered jpegs (<16) are from the DVD-R. Degrading compression to varying degrees can be seen depending on the original DVD. Most Indian DVDs don't use the space on the DVD very well (i.e. Qurbani) - unused space and constant bit rates are common. Shrinking these kind of DVDs it’s hard to tell the difference. When DVDs like Devdas is compressed – which does make better use of the space available – compression problems become more noticeable.

As long as you are depriving money from Blockbuster :)

I didn't know they have Blockbuster in England. I usually rent DVDs from the library or from a nearby independent store.

What freeware software you guys suggest for backing up DVD9 to DVD5.

I know there are numerous sites on the internet outlining methods of backing up, but I though I would ask for your opinions as to which software was best.
