Hi All,
I am considering buying a code free DVD player. I have done some research and shortlisted a few DVD player with their corresponding advantages & disadvantages. I will like your valuable input in helping me finalise my deal.

I’ve heard good things about the Malata players - I think they're a few reviews on avforums.

BJV progressive scan in a DVD player is redundant so long as you have an interlaced TV.. It becomes an asset if you have a HDTV, digital TV !... Then you can really enjoy true picture quality.

Try the APEX 7701 or Apex 800 players...
For more info you can compare all models (just give ur specs and then will suggest a brand that fits ur needs)

I have HD-ready toshiba 50hx81 tv. that's why i am looking for a progressive scan player.

Are you looking for pseudo-progressive ( all the non-DEI stuff) to progressive stuff conversion ? Then i would suggest you try out Arsh's DVD player pioneer elite 47ai... I duno if thats code-free or not...

You should also look for a DVd player which has ( at a mimimum a Faroudja Based chip for doing this conversion)...
