| The best thing to have happened to Zee Gold was that it 'became' Zee Cinema....and now that the transposition has taken place, they are showing 2 great flicks this past week....Mahesh Bhatt's unfailingly touching classic SAARANSH and Ramesh Sharma's ONLY film NEW DELHI TIMES.
Both are great movies from the early eighties and I never for one thought I would get to see NEW DELHI TIMES again. Incidentally Shashi Kapoor won the National Award for this movie and he regretted that his wife Jennifer did not for her portrayal of a cranky English marm in 36 CHOWRINGHEE LANE in the same year....I believe she passed on later in the year....The story was perhaps based on Arun Shourie's series of investigative articles in the Indian Express in those times....indeed it is a political movie, slow at times but very intriguing and engaging at all times.....

And now that question which begs a asking....does this airing mean there are DVDs of these films out there? Are these being planned? Any pointers.....good, bad or irrelevant are much appreciated...
