The most awaited film of 2003 is director Sooraj R Barjatya's latest offering, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (MPKDH). Featuring Bollywood's hottest young stars, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan (in a friendly appearance), MPKDH is a casting coup of sorts and the result of four years of passion, dedication and painstaking effort. Many do not know this, but MPKDH will be the first Rajshri film with portions filmed overseas in New Zealand. Abandoning his own formula of the never before has Anu Malik produced such intense musicality with such felicity of expression. MPKDH proclaims a composer in full creative form.
Anu Malik has created music for all the stars - from Amitabh Bachchan, Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir, and Hrithik, to Abhishek Bachchan. The heroines he's created music for, have all been known by the songs he's made tunes for-Tabu became the Ruk Ruk Ruk girl, Sushmita Sen - the Mehboob Mere giri, Karishma was Sexy Sexy, Urmila became Chamma Chamma and Shilpa Shetty - the Churake Dil Mera girl. From classical to pop, from western to jazz, from bhangra to Moulin Rouge, he's traveled the journey, frequently alone, with just his conviction in himself, his talent and his open-heartedness.
Kareena Kapoor, the second child of Babita and Randhir Kapoor, younger sister of top Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, made her debut with J P Dutta's Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan, the son of legendary stars Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan. They were heralded as the pair of the millennium.
With his extraordinary dancing ability and his archangelic looks, Hrithik Roshan became a national craze from the release of his debut film, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai.
