Hi friends,
looking for screenshots of some AB movies now under the mercy of EROS. I want to know the SQ/PQ of the following movies
1. MUQADDAR KA SIKANDER
2. TRISHUL
3. SHARAABI
4. TEESRI MANZIL (OFCOURSE NOT OF AB)
if anyone can post or give a review of these movies then it will be just fine.
FADDY ARE U LISTENING

I was looking for the EROS versions as the DEI versions are no longer available. While the review posted is of DEI version.

Trishul DVD shots - but these are DEI/Eros shots. From what I remember Trishul DVD on just Eros(or B4U) label was pretty poor but I never came across it myself.

I've only got Eros/DEI versions of Thrishul, MKS and Sharaabi - not come across the Eros/B4U ones. They generally tend to be either direct copies of the DEI DVD or reprocessed versions of DEI DVD with different menus (in the process giving inferior video and picture).

BTW MKS wasn't a great DVD to begin with even on Eros/DEI :wotever: (one of their earlier efforts)

None of the EROS-B4U versions are direct copies as they don't show up as 24 fps film mode (progressive) of the DEI discs. They are all reprocessed in video mode (interlaced).

A few EROS brand DVDs (legal or illegal, I don't know) list DEI as the author. These are original DEI encodings in 24 fps film mode. These are not labelled EROS-B4U, I think??

Obviously you think wrong  Maybe if you read what’s actually posted here on the forums you’ll be more informed than giving more importance to be able to read ‘Top Ten’ text while the missing the bigger picture – quite literally

I think so (again). :D

Ali, please correct me.

I was not sure whether all or any EROS DVDs, crediting authoring to DEI, are classified as B4U?? Some such DVDs that I do have, don't have B4U logo on them.

Also, I don't have a single EROS-B4U DVD for which a DEI-EROS version exists to my knowledge. But I have learnt from various comments on zulm that EROS-B4U versions are not in 24 fps film mode. If there are exceptions, it's good news for all of us.

Deewaar :O

.. I have on numerous occasions mentioned that I have a copy of Deewaar DVD that is labelled Eros/B4U on cover and disc - which is the exact same disc (video & audio quality) as the Eros/DEI DVD. I doubt this was a one of freak disc that only I have :baaa:

EROS-B4U Deewar vs DEI-EROS Deewar comparison by Ali:

http://www.zulm.net/of/showthread.php?t ... genumber=2

Excerpts:

"Interesting this. The Eros/B4U DVD copy looks really very good. But the DEI/Eros is still better, I think. The first comparison shot; DEI version shows livelier picture while the B4U one has a slightly murky look. The second shot is harder to call. B4U shows a brighter picture but looks over enhanced – to the point where the texture on Amitabh Bachchan’s jacket shows signs of faintness. The background wall shows more detail on the B4U version. Close call
Ali"

OK Ali, You want me to do the honour. Here is the other half that you wrote later on, in that thread, and I read it again after 20 months.

..the plot thickens to a mucky state!
This Deewaar DVD is interesting and could explain why some find the Eros/B4U version no different to the DEI one. I just received an Eros/B4U version of Deewaar and it's different to the one Faddy has The one I've got is an exact replication disc of DEI copy - only difference is that it comes with Eros/B4U sleeve cover and the DVD disc artwork is different! - making this one exactly the same quality as the DEI one.

The copy Faddy has is a re-mastered version from Eros/B4U - with different DVD menus - and the added annoyance of unskipable adverts like Faddy mentions.

So I guess it’s pot luck which version you end up with really; there’s a cover with DEI logo that will guarantee the DEI version; plus they are also two Eros/B4U identical covers - but you wont be able to tell which version it is until you play it! Marvellous situation arisen no doubt by the DEI – Eros break-up – guessing here – but I don’t think Eros/B4U are properly entitled to use DEI menu designs and the DEI mastered version of the DVD. So Eros/B4U have to redo the DVD under their banner with re-designed menus. Could be part of the legal battle that was going on – Eros just assumed they could replicate the DEI discs – but when they realised they can’t – they re-did the DVD (of course messing it up in the process ).

yup there are loads of discs where EROS have just used the same prints as the DEI versions but changed the menus.
I have Dil Se and Andaz Apna Apna that have no mention of DEI anywhere on the disc or the artwork, yet clearly from the print, you can see that it was made by professionals and not muppets so we can assume that EROS had nothing to do with the remastering of the print and sound. I just hope they have done the same for the Sarfarosh DVD as Ive just ordered the "EROS" version from IW, couldnt find the DEI version. Oh well Fingers Crossed  :stupid:
I have the Eros Hera Pheri (AB) which I suspect is done by DEI as well as it is decent.
