Music of ARMAAN is BORINg, UNINSPIRED, except, MUSIC PIECE, on SAxs!!

This is a THUMB down, for FILM!!! SEL, tried to FIT in REHMAN's OLD shoes without his MAGIC, FELL FLAT on their FACE!! Trying to REHASH some of DCH tunes too, FAILING MISERABLY!! They should LEARN REHASH lesson from MALIK, N-S!! the Masters of SUCCESSFUL REHASH!

Rana, there are no hard and fast rules for that. In some cases, there are still photographer on the set who keep taking shots as the film shoot progresses. This obviously has no relation to what is shot on the motion camera. Other times, photos are taken in the studio, this is very common for promo stills, esp bigger budget films. When they do derive the promo image from a still from the film as I believe they have in the pics here, its cropped to achieve whatever ratio they want. In all likelihood, the cinema version will contain more picture at the sides.

All of these promo shots that you are seeing have most certainly been shot on still cameras by the publicity cameraman. This is the standard practice for most hindi films, it is only in the very latest stages of the publicity/advertising that you will see real stills taken from the actual film itself and even then you will generally only see them on publicity frames in theaters and these are almost always in the correct aspect ratio. For all other forms of advertising and promotion generally pictures taken by the still photographer are used.
