FILM ON BENGAL WIDOW

Rituparno Ghosh, a renowned filmmaker of Kolkata, says that 'Chokher Bali' is his forthcoming movie. This is based on the story of a young widow, Binodini, who is torn between her two suitors, in the conservative society of Bengal about 100 years ago. Ghosh says he made this film on a woman because "subjects on women are something I understand."
When asked about his choice of Aishwarya Rai in the role of Binodini, Ghosh says he likes Aish because of her charm. Besides, she has dedication. While shooting for 'Chokher Bali', she never complained about anything. Moreover, Ash has all necessary sensibilities of the character required in the movie. This will help the producers to cash Ash's presence in the film. Ghosh confessed that Ghai had offered him the opportunity of working with him, but Ghai came up with his own storyline. "However, I am not used to work on given subjects I told him that. He was nice enough to understand my strong feelings about this and allow me my choice of subject. Both of us felt happy". This will be Ghosh's first film in Hindi. He declined to elaborate details of the storyline and the cast of the movie at the present juncture. He wants the moviegoers to wait.
