Hello guys, ive been coming on this forum quite often and just decided to join up with the forum,,,anyway i really need help with the below 3 films

Bombay Talkie (1970), its advertised that aby played a cameo in the film, i recently rented this and watched it with very close observation and couldnt find aby at all, does anyone know whether this was incorrect, whether aby's cameo was snipped off or whether this is untrue news

Piya Ka Ghar (1972) the same goes for the movie, its advertised as a guest role for aby, can someone please let me know what the truth is on this

Jaban (1972) i've never read anything related this movie, and there is hardly any info available on this movie, please advise whether aby had anything to do with this movie

Will really appreciate the help regarding these films

cheers

According to imdb.com Amitabh Bachchan is uncredited in Bombay Talkie but appears in a ‘cameo role’ as a mourner at the funeral.

Ab is credited as a starring role on Jaban on imdb.com http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068753/ - (although it has be said imdb.com isn’t the most reliable of information sources on movies) and as guest appearance Piya Ka Ghar. Don’t remember seeing either of these movies.

Jaban is a Bengali film which AB has a special appearance in, along with Shatrughan Sinha, and I think Dharmendra (although saw it a while ago, so can't remember it that well). I have a VCD of it somewhere, so can get more details on the film if required.

I scanned the DVD twice and didn't see any funeral procession scene. One scene that remotely resembles is the hoarding being carried by 6 men in the beginning credits. Another scene, that imdb mentions is at 77 min into the film. Despite excellent PQ of the DVD, it's impossible to recognoze any one in either of these two scenes. On the cinema screen, one may be able to recognize ?? One of the hoarding carrier does look like AB physique of those days ??

Another tid bit:
BT music is by Shankar Jaikishan. Film released in 1970. It has Usha Utthap singing "Hare Om Hare" and it also has "Mere Angne Mein" song. Both tunes later used by Kalyan Ji Annand Ji. (I wouldn't be surprised if the "Mere Angnein Mein" song in Bombay Talkie is sung by AB; it sounds that similar) ??
Kalyan Ji Annand Ji was Assistant to SJ in many films. Is Bombay Talkie one of them that KJAJ used these two exact tunes later on in his films ??

------------------------------

Piya Ka Ghar:
I vaguely remember AB in a guest role in this film. Makes sense, since Jaya Bhaduri is the heroine and AB had been courting her. In those days AB was not that famous, so didn't make much notice of that.

I haven't seen this film since 1972.

I, too, tried to find Amitabh Bachchan in Bombay Talkie (the DVD) some time ago, but had no luck. Maybe the part's not on the DVD...

As far as Bombay talkie goes, i added Amitabh credential in IMDB, the reason why i added this was cuz i have a book on amitabh and it basically stated in the book aby was one of the mourner in funeral, hence the reason i added his credit, and when i finally got hold of the movie i couldnt find aby in the movie.

I've watched the VCD of Piya Ka Ghar, and no sign of him in this movie either, but maybe i might have missed him in this

Bhaskar Fanks for sharing the info on Jaban, i've dropped you an email regarding the movie
