On the radio today, it said that Bombay Dreams is coming soon. I live in South Florida, so they probably meant either to theaters or on DVD!

I've been wanting to see the play for the longest time. I absolutely love the music (the wedding qawali is excellent). If indeed it even comes to LA, I'm going just to watch it. My brother saw it while he was in London and told me that it was a funny play.

As for it going to theaters or dvd... well, first off, once again, it's a play. And if it went to theaters or dvd, that would totally kill the purpose.

I live in london and went to the premier.......just wanna say although it is better then a lot of the crap on in theatre land at the moment, it's still not great..........and don't think it is like a movie at all.....or for that matter don't raise your hopes a couple of bits stand out (shakalaka baby) because of AR Rehmans music mostly, otherwise mera syals (or rather shekar kapoors) story line is not very good at all, full of outdated cliches which will make any Bollywood fan cringe. THe UK went a little Bollywood mad this summer, anything Bollywood was loved no matter how takky it was (anyone who went to selfridges will know what I mean!)

the article (or something else i read) also said something about making improvements to the musical so hopefully they'll fix all those problems during the flight from london to toronto (i'm guessing the same cast will be performing). i'll re-read the article/post it here so you'll get all the details.

I think Ayesha Dharker will have left by then (she played the second female lead), shame cos she was very good and better then priya khaledas (the lead), Ayesha fyi was also in attack of the clones

And more importantly, the lead in Santosh Sivan's The Terrorist.

i just re-read the article. it said that ALW is aware that the storyline is a weak point in the musical (compared to ARR's music) and will be smoothing over the rough edges before coming to toronto. also, toronto is being used as a launching pad before going to nyc which is why they are having a 3-4 month run here instead of just a six-week stint (so they have lots of time to polish up the show before moving to nyc). i guess that means that those wanting to watch it should wait until later on in the musical's run so that they get the polished product.

If Dharker bails, all is not lost. Her understudy is the actress from that movie Snip!, I can't remember her name, but she was very, very good when I saw it. Then again, maybe anyone would look good next to Priya Kalidas. I dunno what they were thinking when they cast her - when performing live, her voice isn't even very nice.

Speaking of A.R. Rahman coming to Toronto, according to http://www.bollywoodconcerts.com .. Rahman is also coming to the US/Canada to do another round of musical concerts. I will definitely attend this, the one Rahman held in 2000 was memorizing.

I was there at his last concert and to put it lightly, it was simply brilliant. This is one man who is immortal in this industry, such as the likes of Lata Mangeshkar and Dillip Kumar.

I will definetely be at the one in Toronto as well.

Lucky... very lucky. I'm stuck waiting till April 5th.

So what songs did he have over there? (from his new selection).
