The film - 'Escape From Taliban' - made both in English and Hindi has Manisha Koirala in the lead role. However, Sushmita says: "The film has distorted facts and showed what I did not write in the books. For example, I never wrote that my husband used to beat me, but the film showed that. Now, my husband is furious and our marriage is on the rocks." One purpose behind staging the play was to set the record right. "The play portrays what I have written."
