Good thread, but I'm going to change it to best composers, as I can't pick out any one specific song. Anything by A.R. Rahman, I usually like, although some of his best work is largely underrated. I will never tire of DIL SE.. or ZUBEIDAA, two flawless works. He's simply a genius; his songs are always fresh and truly capture the essence of India. I love them because they transport me far away to different places.

Anu Malik is decent at times; his REFUGEE is outstanding, easily his best effort. Ismail Darbar is great. More and more, I'm enjoying Sandeep Chowta's stuff; a few songs in DUM are addictive.

My least favourite composers are Nadeem Shravan, Sajid Wajid (sp?), Anand Raj Anand and some others that I can't quite remember at present.

I thought Zubeidaa was alright, but there was some weird stuff in it. What was with the bass line in "Mehndi Hai Rachnewali"?

i don't think many of us would disagree that rahman is the best composer out there.
