In the case of Deewane whichever way you want to look at, it's Yash Raj Films that are the ones to blame for the poor quality DVD - they are the ones who own the DVD rights, put their name on it and sold the DVD.
Look at it this way, if you owned a film and wanted a quality DVD made, you would give the necessary materials to DVD professionals who will author the DVD for you. If you were not happy with the final DVD these DVD authors did for you - would you released it? In case of Deewane you know the DVD has been badly authored - so you either release it hoping people accept it or release it knowing people will complain about the quality, but you have a backup plan - ie blame the authors! The ultimate power of films is with the people who make and own them - they have the power to get a good DVD outs; ie companies like Yash Raj Films, Eros and Video Sound.
Super Digital and other authors as just tools and a lame excuse these other companies use for bad quality of their DVDs. I'm not vindicating authors like SD - they seem bad as each other, just grabbing the money offered to them. Look at websites of companies like YRF and SD who pride themselves in this phony quality - yet they still make and release crappy DVDs. Again in case of Deewane - if SD really was concerned about quality they should have never put their name on the DVD. As observers we dont really know what happens. YRF will blame SD for the bad quality and SD will blame YRF saying they provided bad materials. Yet if either of these companies cared about quality - SD would have done a good DVD on demanding proper sources to the film. YRF would have checked the DVD was up to the standard and any problems got them resolved with SD.
The answer has always been there for YRF - ie use a professional/quality outfit to get DVDs done - they just choose not to exercise that option. That's their fault and ultimately the blame of responsibility has to be with them because at end of the day YRF are ones who are selling these DVDs to us.
