Kamal Hassan remakes Face Off

Trust Kamal Hassan to come up something different all the time. The actor whose last film Abhay had bombed badly at the box-office, has just remade the Hollywood hit Face Off in Tamil titles Ambaesivam. Hassan plays the role the John Travolta did in the original, while Madhavan plays the role of Nicolas Cage. The film has been directed by Sunder C and has been made with a whopping budget of Rs. 10 crore. Kamal Hassan had hit headlines last year for having split with wife Sarika and dating actress Simran. But that has not dimmed his popularity as an actor as Ambaesivam is awaited with bated breath.

i didn't think this movie was a remake of Face Off.......I thought it was a buddy buddy road movie.......

It looks more similar to Kachche Dhaage. By the way, whats the Kachche Dhaage DVD like?

The film is not a remake of Face-Off but is another rip-off of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I saw the film on cinema and found it quite poor, although the performance from Madhavan, Kiran and Kamal Hassan was quite good. Thumbs Down for this one. I prefered the films Dhool and Vikurmabikan.

Now I have high anticipation for DUM (a remake of Dhil) and Tera Naam. I see these Hindi films doing well at the box-office.
