Binodini, the central character in this novel by Tagore, was originally to be played by Nandita Das, now its being played by Ash. Has anyone read the novel?

I have always liked Rituparno's work ever since his movie 'Unishe April'. I know that Prosenjit, son of Biswajeet is starring in 'Chokher Bali' alongside Suchitra Sen's granddaughter Raima Sen. Is this the same Prosenjit who starred in 'Utsab'? Is the YRF DVD of that movie any good?

I just read, Aish is in Chokher bali, and shooting started in Vinarsi!

Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh has completed his shooting for his Rabindranath Tagore adaptation Chokher Bali with Aishwarya Rai in Varanasi. "She was amazing. Though the constant pressure on her attention from fans, including politicians and bureaucrats, unnerved her, she was the portrait of composure," Ritu says from Kolkata, where he is currently shooting.

The DVD is shit but the movie is superb. See it regardless of the shabby transfer....very nice stuff.
