Well Tamilini might have been the first to introduce DTS to the Indian film DVD market on thier song DVD but Ayngaran introduces the first DTS DVD for a full length Indian feature.

The superhit rowdy film Bala with Shaam (12b) & Meera Jasmine (Run) has a running time of 130 mins and the DVD has the dual option of Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS. Because of the shorter running time there are no apparent disfigurement in the picture quality and looks like a typical Ayngaran DVD quality.

The DTS has better sound quality then its Dolby Digital counterpart. And knowing the history of Ayngaran having excellent Dolby tracks on DVD (even better then many Hollywood DVDs) for the DTS to be better is a whole new experience in listening to an Indian film.

While the film isn't that great I would recommend you guys renting it just to experience DTS while watching an Indian film. The next DTS release will be Kadhal Sugamma & Dhool.

The film is now on sale only in London and will be avalible for sales on-line and USA a week after pongal new year.

Looks like Ayyangran is really trying hard to make world class DVDs. Any chance they will do any Hindi DVDs of the films that came from South India. AVM, Gemini, Padmalaya etc??
