Cant wait till decent copies of Disco Dancer/Kasam Paida Karne Wali Ki come out.

Does anyone know the name of the film in which Mithun along with a friend decide to sign up with the CBI but then his friend dies and his family is killed...in the process he looses his memory? In order to bring his memory back his friends recreate the events of that horrid day and bang his memory is back and gets revenge for what happens. Phew! Story in a nutshell, anyone know the name of the movie? I have been trying to remember the name of this movie for god know how long...any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Cinemawalar's Titli

Why on earth the title of the movie is Titli... I tried searching for the word titli in my Bengali dictionary (from calcutta) and there is no such word! Titli is a hindi word and if i am not mistaken for Butterfly. The proper Bengali term should've been Proja-poti.

Shuman bhai.... Remember... you use the word..paani instead of Jol... Thats cos its a synonym... The same applies for Titli vs Proja-poti

the difference is both pani and jol exist on the dictionary, but the titli doesn't. atleast not the one that i have (from calcutta).

bhaskar, do you too know titli as synonym for projapoti in Bengali?

To be honest with you, my Bengali isn't amazing. I've heard both words being used, but generally projapoti is used for butterfly. I haven't really heard Titli being used in general Bengali talk.

Yes Bhaskar ... I too agree with you and Shuman abt. this. Projapoti is the most commonly used word to describe a butterfly.... Google-d the net and found only this word to describe a butterfly

Will many people outside of India/Bangladesh get to see this film? Bengali films are NEVER shown in my area, though I will suggest it to the new Indian theater that opened up in my area. Does anyone in the US/Canada/UK get to see Bengali films theatrically?

The easy answer to that one is no. A couple of Ray films get shown at film festivals now and again, and recently, Uttara was shown at the Birmingham Film Festival, but thats all.

As for the argument over Titli, the lead character in the film is called Titli - hence the title.

Hope this helps.
