It's really not too good. Washed out colours - lip synch problems in places. On the up side it is the full film.

Waqt - A huge hit from 1965 when first released. This DVD from Yash Raj has been tranferred from original film elements but the condition of the print shows a lot of wear and tear,a fair transfer, color seems faded, lacks details in dark scenes,
Mono soundtrack procssed for Dolby Digital,a lot of hissing thruout, movie is complete (179 minutes),hit tunes galore. Extra's include English subtitles also in songs,Theatrical trailer, interview with Yash Chopra repeated from other Yash Raj DVD's. Not the best Yash raj release.

The Shemaroo version doesn't look any better than the YRF disc. What do you say?

YRF version of WAQT is stated to be from Film. There is a chance, it might be progressive. Can anybody verify/ check it please.

Shemaroo DVD has vibrant (enhanced) colors as usual. But, it is interlaced.

If YRF WAQT DVD is progressive, it will be intresting to see whether Shemaroo interlaced but vibrant PQ is prefferred or YRF progressive is prefferred on prog displays.

I didn't check whether YRF Waqt was progressive when I rented it, but I highly doubt it. Interlaced or progressive notwithstanding, the image was soft and sharpness was horrible. In other words, the DVD was "whaqked" :)
