Other films on the site that are 5.1 are also listed as stereo. Just the basic info they suppose to give like color and stereo. About the release date, I'm confused too.

The reason it lists only stereo is because if you notice the title is listed in their VHS section and therefore they are quoting the specs for the VHS release.

As far as the release date is concerned, there is no confusion. The LAGAAN DVD will street on January 22nd, 2002

Although official street date is 22nd Jan - many retailers often break these dates and Lagaan DVD could be available earlier as next week. I know some UK R1 importers get discs as early as 2 weeks before official release date.

Ali, which site do you think will start shipping Lagaan by next week? BTW I was hoping there would be a pre order of Lagaan on Indiaweekly but this is what they replied in a mail to me...

We can only take orders for Lagaan when it is posted on our web site. As
soon as it is legally released on DVD it will be posted on our site. Keep
browsing.

Yeh Ringos.co.uk is good for early delivery, also Movietyme.com deliver early too. But neither of these have Lagaan on pre-order (as yet!) and its mainly for UK buyers only.

Other R1 stores that might be worth trying are;
http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/
http://www.absound.ca/
.. both Canadian base, they both often break street dates and do have Lagaan on pre-order.

I’ve got a friend who’s ordered in the UK from these guys;

http://www.discemporium.com/

..they are very good for fast/early delivers of R1 DVD but there cost is usually high £21 a DVD!

UPDATE: the friend who ordered from http://www.discemporium.com/ - got charged on credit card yesterday - these guys only charge once the title is ready to ship or has been shipped - so he could get the Lagaan DVD by next week :happy:
