Some good news, afters months of nagging http://www.play247.com, they've finally updated their stock and are now selling most of the newer indian dvds out @ the best prices around :thumbs: :p

Hmmmm, they're not really selling a lot of the newer dvds - company is on there, and so is Devdas (to be released in Jan 2003??!??!) but that's it really. It would be cool if they did start selling the new discs - but what the UK really needs is an online rental service for Indian DVDs - is anyone listening?!?!?!

Bhaskar I read in the news somewhere that the Big Chain stores are planning to enter into the city and that would infact sound the death knell for the small time shop owners. In this case this is an unfortunate thing...
However is there any chance that the big e-tailers/re-tailers of DVDs.. Like play247.com is planning an entry (now or sometime in the future) so that they can effectively pose a credible challenge to the grocerywalahs who have pirates galore with them ?.;. In this case this would be a welcome sign indeed !

That may work fine in the US, but I don't see it making any difference here in the UK, the reason being that the official UK DVD release of most Hindi films comes a couple of months later than the US release - which means the piracy isn't going to die here.
