Hi,
Anybody seen the DVD of "North By Northwest"?
This one has been cleaned up with very sophisticated
software instead of real time junk equipment. The
result is stupendous. Almost 100% noise/grain free and
at the same time artifacts are minimal.
Does not look like a 40 years old film that needs
restoration (and it does) at all. Now imagine what this
software could do to all these old scratched Indian
films. Mughal E Azam and Pakeezah in this quality!
Droooooool.

As far as I know "Citizen Kane" and "Singin' in the Rain"
have been cleaned with the same process and are also
gorgeous to look at. Maybe we should mail Eros and Co.
a copy for study!? :p

Michel.. I must concur with you and Arsh... This really is a Gem of a DVD... Grant and Eve St. Marie,,, couldnt get better along with that deft touch of Alfred Hitchcock :)

Ppl who havent got this DVD should get hold of this... An absolute classic in its own terms...

On the same note.. Have you by any chance got to review both versions of CHARADE (Audrey Hepburn starrer) ? (The one from Madacy entertainment and the other one from Criterion) ?

I've heard that Criterion's disc of Charade is quite good, but it isn't 16:9 enhanced. There are numerous public domain versions of the film, not just Madacy. These are to be avoided definitely.

Madacy- If you thought Eros was bad...
