From dvdfile.com:

If there's one thing you can always count on when it comes to a Woody Allen DVD, it's that you know what you're gonna get. True to form, bearing no surprises is the 9/17 release of his latest Hollywood Ending, which as usual features little in the way of extras. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and Allen's trademark mono, the only supplements include the trailer and production notes. Also due on 9/17 is the indie hit Monsoon Wedding, also in anamorphic widescreen with production notes, filmographies and the trailer. Retail is $32.95 each.

They don't say what studio is releasing it.

Thank you very much DragunR2 for the information. I was really wondering about the R1 Monsoon Wedding DVD, a release date is good enough for me.

Seeing as Idream Productions have got Cinebella to-do DVDs of Mitr and 16 December - also advertised forthcoming Agni Varsha, Monsoom Wedding and Bend It Like Beckham could possibly come from the same DVD people :where:

Hopefully! Cinabella does r1 Monsoon wedding!as they have best ,consistent track record so far! seems like they are affiliated with SUPER DIGITAL, as their ACURA version, or TOYOTA of lexus, after being abandoned by YRF!hmmm???

I was personally disappointed by R1 monson wedding dvd quality, so far from all reviews! Still waiting for ali's official review!? ali, comment pls.?

I am very much concerned on the other hand getting a RECYCLED VERSION of R1 DVD of MONSOON WEDDING from PAL to NTSC converted CRAPPY SHIT, MY FOOT?? hope so? not we have to see that HORRIBLE DAY after ASOKA fiasco by FIRST LOOK??

BTW, if R2 ASOKA ,when converted from PAL to NTSC can yoeld such a PISSING on LIKE transfer, just think what will u get a MONSOON WEDDING like, whose r2 is not REASONABLE either IMHO????? :baaa:  :vsneaky: :stupid: :bangbang: :ffs:

The R1 release of "Monsoon Wedding" is by Universal Home Video. UHV is owned by the same company that owns the US film distributor of "MW," USA Films. UHV's releases are usually mastered by Panasonic Disc Services, but I believe they do source from other US authoring houses. DVDEmpire already has it on sale:

The Digital Bits reports that Monsoon Wedding is coming a week later on 9/24:

Universal will debut Monsoon Wedding on 9/24.

Universal recently acquired USA Films, FYI.

Nobody picked up, R1 Monsoon DVD is DTS. (Also it is not a 35 mm film but just a super 16)

Rest in new thread as I think it needs a new title as the first Indian DTS DVD.

Sorry, I missed this DTS mentioned anywhere (where is it??).
BTW this is the original "MW r1 thread"

Anyways, if DTS is not news, I wonder if Ali could merge my new thread into this one.
