Finally I got TAPISH and ABHAY. I liked both the movies. TAPISH may not be a masala film, which I normally like, I still liked it for its content and message. ABHAY, too was very intresting for its psychological topic and great hollywood style special effects. Kamal Hasan is ahead of Indian times and that's why this movie didn't hit the bull's eye in India. If given exposure in the west, I am sure it will be appreciated.

BTW, DEI's ABHAY DVD lets you select the Pan & Scan option for somewhat larger but cropped picture in addition to the Anamorphic Wide Screen and Letterbox settings.

Of course, both DVDs are Prog as normal for DEI.

"Abhay" was a disappointment considering it was from DEI. The print was a little too contrasty and colors weren't very good. It didn't look like a stylistic decision. Sunny, can you post a few comparison shots between "Abhay" and "Aalavandhaan"?

Abhay, for me, was an okay movie. It had huge potential. It had a great storyline, great action scenes, great sfx, and good acting. However, the script and direction just hampered the film.

Dragun agreed ..but one aspect where Abhay scores over the tamil version would be again (:D) in its progressive nature...

So Sunny if you are posting a comparison please do it on an apples vs apples basis aka in a Force-weaved mode :)
