WATCH 'LAGAAN' AND GET I-T REIMBURSED
Even world-class entertainment companies have felt the need to promote their TV channels. These companies are utilising their channels for this purpose. The TV channels bring on screens the hit films to attract the viewers. A novel idea has struck them. Not very long ago, Star Plus had introduced a scheme for its viewers, and offered rewards to the lucky watchers. They had sent a lucky viewer to Goa for correctly responding to the questions asked during 'Dil Chahta Hai's' screening. Now, Sony Entertainment has announced its 'Lagaan Maaf' contest. According to this scheme, eleven selected winners will be reimbursed their previous year's income tax.
The contest involves answering a question asked during the screening of the film 'Lagaan' on Oct 27th. The executive vice-president of Sony Entertainment Television, Mr. Sunil Lulla said, "Since the movie (Lagaan) is a world class entertainer, the SET has decided to avail the great opportunity for advertisers to reach their audiences. Keeping in view the sprit of 'Lagaan', we are excited about the benefits the 'Lagaan Maaf' contest will offer to our viewers." The income tax paid by the winners during the financial year 2001- 2002 will be reimbursed to them by SET. It has also fixed the ceiling at Rs 50,000 (about dollar one thousand plus) for the winners.
