Indian entertainment 'about to boom'

The industry has been growing at the rate of 30% every year - one of the fastest in the country, and even globally,"

That is better than "Director Santosh Sivan's Asoka: A massive hit in 2001". Thats new s to me

At least Yaadein was one of the biggest releases - in terms of advertisements and hype

Well I read somewhere a while back that Yaddien actually had one of the highest grosses openings for an Indian film outside of India...till K3G took over. You would have thought that asian audiences outside India would have avoided such films. Luckly the takings in India was damn right dismal that decleared the film a flop.

This is true, Yaadein had the biggest opening of the year till K3G took over but K3G really was much much bigger then Yaadein. If it was any other film Yaadein would have been so talked about but the embarassment really was too much! Anyway Yaadein earned more money in the US for its opening then Lagaan did in a month. That's why I mean if it was any other film it would be getting as much nominations at the filmfare awards.

Am I blind or did they edit this article since it was posted? I can't find the reference to Yaadein at all!

the link is from uk site (co.uk), and asoka is one of the biggest hit here so nothing wrong with the statement.

Yep, Asoka was one of the biggest hits in 2001 for Indian films. When I went to see it, every seat was filled and it sold out 1/2 hr before the showing. I think it reached no.8 in UK top ten at the time.
K3G made it within the top 5 (I think at 3).
