I just saw an ad for Dil Hai Tumhaara, and what can i say? Jimmy Shergill had a dodgy moustache, and Preity Zinta was singing a song which was a direct lift of the title song of Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam - and I mean totally copied!!! (Although I think that track was also nicked from somewhere)

What's going on nowadays - how and why are music directors stealing tunes so blatantly!?! And Nadeem Shravan say Anu Malik's music for Refugee was mediocre - have they heard any of their own music yet?!?!?

From Dhadkan/Kasoor/Ek rishta/Raaz/YDA/TSAKH!!same composition/same instrumentations, repacked, blended differently, and now here openly, lifting HTHS title song, that was itself lifted from Pakistani song!!! So, Choron ke ghar chor!!

I agree totally, most of their music is total crap!!!The last albums of theirs I remember liking were Aa Ab Laut Chalen and Pardes!!

As for Anu Malik, I have loved some of his songs - mainly Border , Asoka and Refugee, and I thought Aks was interesting, but not one of my favourite soundtracks.

Nowadays, the only albums I really like have music by A.R Rahman, Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, and Sandesh Shandilya.

Remember Kya Kehna? I'm gonna say this is going to be one of those small budget surprise hits of the year. The music has already caught on big (even though it's nothing new), and the starcast is pretty fresh. So let's see what happens.

The combination hasn't been tried before. Arjun w/ Priety and Mahima; Preity and Mahima together; plus Rekha is in the mix. The film looks like it will deal more with the mother-daughter, sisters angle more than the love story, that's why it could be a hit.

also btw, the story is a routine love story -> preity and mahima are sisters. both love arjun. preity is a *rebel*(obv in hindi film sense.. ). jimmy loves preity but preity doesn't know. rekha wants mahima to marry arjun.

We were discussing the box office prospects of the film, and in those terms, this combination hasn't been tried before.
If you want to discuss quality films, Paanch is still at the top of my most awaited list. DHT seems like the fluff that might pull through, and in the age of MDK, it sounds pretty darn fresh. You also have remember that this is coming from Kundan Shah, the guy behind the brilliant Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and the very good Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.
