Apparently this film was banned.....does anyone know any more...here's the interview where it was mentioned......it appeared on Thenewspapertoday.com

“There’s so little relevant cinema ...”: Antara Mali

By Anna M.M. Vetticad

September 27: Once she was known as “photographer Jagdish Mali’s daughter”. Now she’s “the Company girl”. Having played Vivek Oberoi’s wife in Ram Gopal Varma’s landmark 2002 film, Antara Mali is on a roll. The young star was in Delhi last night to promote Road (this time, she gets to play the hunky Oberoi’s girlfriend). We spoke to her before she was whisked off to do the rounds of late-night shows at Delhi’s PVR cinemas:

After the success of Company, do you have time for offbeat projects like Urf Professor?
Gosh, you saw that film? It’s a pity so few people got to see it (Urf Professor, a digital film, was banned by the Censor board). Yes of course I have time for anything good that comes my way.

So what’s next after Road?
Oh dear, I hate talking about forthcoming films. I want to concentrate on Road now. Well okay, I’ll tell you. There’s Anurag Kashyup’s Gulaal ...

That’s another person who’s suffered at the hands of the censors (Kashyup’s film Paanch was initially banned by the Censor Board. It was later cleared with cuts). Any comments on our Censor system?
You know, I’d rather not comment on the system. I don’t think I’m fully equipped to do so.

Why is there so little sensible cinema being made in India?
I think some of that is changing with so many films having flopped, and with filmmakers finding it hard to get audiences to go to theatres. But you know what, I’d still rather not comment on the system in general. I don’t think I’m big enough or important enough or that I have achieved enough to do that. In fact at this stage I think I’d be pretty dumb to comment. Later maybe.

There are high expectations from Road after the Varma-Oberoi-Mali team clicked in Company (Road is produced, not directed by Varma) ...
Well, as you said, there is so little relevant cinema being made these days, that you just grab whatever good stuff comes your way. There’s no time to worry about expectations.

Do you let your dad click pictures of you often?
Not often. I’m quite uncomfortable in front of the still camera. I find it very constrictive, all that posing around.

Antara Mali played Aftab Shivdasani's friend in Mast, yes? So did she actually -- gasp! -- work her way up the showbiz ladder? Or does she have some connections I don't know about?

her father's the famous still photographer Jagdish Mali....so she does have connections in the film world.....and i believe her mother is a veteran stage actress(marathi...am not sure though), I cannot remember her name right now....so showbiz connections exist one way or the other...

Yeah but the only films she has done so far are with Ram Gopal Verma. Makes you wonder what ladder she actually worked her way up, to get here.

Not really...she acted opposite Akshay Kumar in 'Khiladi 420' as well I believe....but then Neeraj Vohra the director of that flick is closely associated with RGV too....since the RANGEELA days....

That just reinforces my point. Since Mr. Khiladi came before her other movies it is probably from there that she came in touch with Ram Gopal Verma.

KHILADI 420 happened after MAST and much before MAST she was acting in RGV's Telugu flicks.....RGV has this habit of picking up people from various places...one thing is for sure though she had a portfolio made by her dad doing the rounds.....but in any case introducing her has been a good contribution of RGV's to the industry....

No offense taken. Just was pointing the spelling out because sone people spell it 'telegu' (especially tamilians. I assume they pronounce it close to 'telegu' in their native tongue)

Tamilians usually pronounce it "Telungu." At least in my experience.
