The BFI have just passed Mughal E Azam through the BBFC:

Expected to open on 25/10/02 - anyone know anything about this - and does this mean there is a chance or a DVD re-release?

Film only certification meaning no DVD/video release. Probably been passed for a film festival or something.

A restored print of Mughal-E-Azam is going to be released in selected cinemas around the UK (like Mother India was earlier this year). It's part of the Imagine Asia season.

all of shemaroo catologue will be out on dvd in uk and certified starting with mughle azam, pakeezah etc

I sure hope so. Even though I'm in the US, an Indian store near me has stocked quite a few UK releases.

Does it mean that Shemaroo rights don't conflict with YRF in the UK?? Shemaroo has only 29 DVD titles (most of them are YRF in North America) in their Indian listing. Rest are all Video CDs.
